Hi readers. We are approaching the end of the current book selection Love Wins by Rob Bell. Only 4 more posts to go. I think we could all agree that this may end up being one of our most challenging books we’ll study together. But, I appreciate that we did it because it made me think about things I never have before and make new connections that weren’t there previously.
With that said, it’s time to choose our next selection to give everyone ample time to acquire the book. So, think about one book (please submit only one) that you would like to be the next selection and I will choose some from the submissions to make the final vote. It can be any Christian book that you are really wanting to dig into. It can be contemporary to classic, conservative to controversial, or anything in between.
In light of our last book, I thought a good one to submit would be From Eternity to Here: Rediscovering the Ageless Purpose of God by Frank Viola. I felt at times that understanding God’s eternal purpose would really help understand what Love Wins was trying to communicate. So, that’s my pick. How about submitting yours in the comment box below?
Michael Fleming lives near Canton, Ohio with his wife Kristin. Michael is involved as a teacher with the Soul Care Center, a non-profit school in Canton that provides Christian counseling, teaching and coaching to the Stark County area. He also writes and records music for his pop alternative music project (also called 2nd man united) that can be heard in the sidebar of the site.
I nominate Radical. It would provide a good Christian culture counter-point to Love wins. Provide a bit of a balance.
I just saw the author of “UnChristian”, Gabe Lyons, being interviewed today and he has written a new book entitled, “The Next Christians: The Good News About the End of Christian America”.
I also vote for Radical.
